ENERGY LEVELS IN PROJECTORS

One of the biggest misconceptions I notice in projectors is that once we find out we’re a “non-energy” type, we take that as we can’t or don’t have energy for ANYthing.

Some projectors are energy projectors and some projectors are non-energy projectors, but this doesn’t mean what you might think.

So let’s dig into this to combat any misinformation you may have thought was true up until now.

First, what’s the difference between “energy” projectors and “non-energy” projectors?

The answer is: Not much.

Do energy projectors have more physical energy? Yes.

Does that mean that non-energy projectors have no physical energy? Absolutely not.

It’s the WAY you use your energy and how efficient you have to be with it.

There are 4 “motor centers” in the Human Design chart.

Motor centers provide stable, steady, and sustainable energy for doing things.

In order of how much energy they provide, here are the 4 motor centers:

  • Sacral Center – No projectors have this. This is only a center that Generators and Manifesting Generators have.
  • Emotional Center – Only Emotional Authorities have this center defined. So an Emotional Authority Projector has this center defined.
  • Root Center – This is found only in either Splenic Authorities, Sacral Authorities, or Emotional Authorities.
  • Ego/Heart Center – Any type can have this center defined, the ones that DON’T have it are Self-Projected Projectors, Mental Projectors (sidenote: mental or “no authority” types DOESN’T mean that the mind is the authority, but that’s a topic for another day), and Reflectors.

These 4 centers provide the extra physical energy to those who have them defined.

Therefore, if you have at least ONE of them defined in your chart, you’re classified as an “energy” projector. You can have any combination of them, but having at least one classifies you as an energy projector.

However, if you have none of those 4 motor centers defined, you’re classified as a “non-energy” projector.

I’m a Self-Projected Projector, so I’m technically classified as a non-energy projector. But as you can see, I have a blog, a podcast, and many other things that I do each day. So, what do these mean, really?

Like all types, you have more energy for the things you LOVE to do.

This gets frequently overlooked, but think about something you hate doing. How motivated are you to do it? Probably not very motivated.

Energy projectors have a motor center that they can TAKE energy FROM in order to “do” the things that they need to do.

Whereas with non-energy projectors, it’s MUCH more difficult, because we don’t have any baseline motor centers at the ready.

So practically, what do you do?

Like in all open centers, you take in and AMPLIFY the energy around you from those who have the center defined where you’re open.

So for non-energy projectors, just being around someone, in the same room or even on a call with someone who has a motor center, will help you get motivated and have a burst of energy to do the things you need to do. Because you take in that energy and amplify it.

But you may feel a “crash” after the person leaves, it could slowly fade or be more abrupt, it just depends. It’s kind of like a caffeine rush or a sugar rush.

The thing to remember is that you are not meant to HOLD this energy or sustain it. So having a detox at the end of the day, or consciously releasing the energy when you’re done is a cruical part of self-care. If you don’t release it, you’ll burn out.

And yet, at the same time, if you’re really passionate about something, you’re excited to do it, right? Yes! So you’ll find that you actually have much more energy for those things and thinking “non-energy” means that you can’t have energy is actually limiting you.

For me, I love to write. I love to sing. I love to dance. I love to learn things. I love to spend time with my friends.

And I can do all of these every day because I give myself ample time to decompress AND relax in between them.

I take multiple naps a day.

Seriously, like 2 or 3. And while some other people may see that as “lazy”, it’s something that helps me recoup my energy to continue on throughout the day. So F what everyone else says. Do what feels GOOD and RIGHT for YOU.

The only limits you have are the ones you choose to believe are true.

All projectors need rest.

As a projector, regardless of anything else, you’ll need more rest than others (besides reflectors). But whatever way and whatever level of rest you find rejuvenating, that is the right level for you.

I used to overdo my rest because as soon as I found out I was supposed to rest, I took it as an excuse for me to do nothing. But that actually still drained me and I was SO confused for a few weeks.

It wasn’t until I liberated myself from overdoing the self-care that I realized I didn’t need THAT much. Granted, I still need a lot, but not 24/7.

And if you’re a projector who’s thinking “I don’t really need much rest now that I think about it,” that’s totally fine!

Some people only need the weekend to themselves. Some people only need one self-care thing per day. Some need multiple. Some need mainly self-care. It literally doesn’t matter if you need more or less, there’s no right or wrong. There’s only what’s correct for YOU.

Likewise, some people get energy from rest, others get energy from being more active. It’s YOUR body. What feels good for you?

Seriously, toss out ALL the expectations and ALL the “standards” and really ask yourself what is right for you.

You will find you have more energy around others.

Like I stated above, open centers take in and amplify the energy around them. So you may find that you have a lot of energy depending on the situation you’re in or the environment you’re in.

Even if you’re an introvert, like me, others may actually mistake you for an extrovert in certain situations becuase you’re essentially riding on a caffeine high of energy when you’re around them.

So if you think you’re an introvert, you probably are. And this may explain why you feel so talkative or so energetic around others.

There’s even more caveats in Human Design, so if any of this doesn’t “fit” you exactly the way I wrote it, don’t get discouraged. Human Design is called a Living Experiment for a reason.

Experiment with it. Experiment with your life. Find out what works for you. FInd out what makes sense right now and use that. It may make sense in the future. You never know unless you try and test it out.

But if you only take one thing from this article, as a projector, you aren’t limited to just doing nothing. And you DO have energy. You just have to learn to work and flow WITH it, instead of against it.
